TRAUMA

     TRAUMA is one of the most experienced Polish Heath metal band. They started at late 80's as Thanatos and two demos are from this period. As a result this band from Elbląg has become to be mentioned among the leaders of Polish underground scene. In 1992 they changed their name from Thanatos to Trauma and they recorded "Invisible Reality" in Olsztyńskie Studio Polskiego Radia. It appeared on the market in June 1993 (Loud Out rec./Morbid Noizz prod.) causing positive reactions both in underground and official magazines, and among the fans.

Three years later they recorded new tracks in SL Studio in Gdańsk and released their debut album "Comedy Is Over" in autumn 1996 (VOX MORTIS rec. ; only on tape). In spite of original music the label didn't assure even elemental promotion and distribution of this material. Next recording session took place in Selani Studio in Olsztyn in October 1997.The effect was mini album called "Daimonion" , which brought contract with Pagan Records. Cooperation resulted in releasing "Daimonion" Cd with remastered tracks from "Invisible Reality". In the meantime Trauma is active in many successful concerts all over Poland.

In spring 2000 the band entered Hertz Studio in Białystok, where the new full length album "Suffocated In Slumber" comes into existence. It appeared on the market at the end of September. At the same time (also Pagan Records) reedition of debut album "Comedy Is Over" is released, with new layout and for the first time on Cd.

The Cd "Suffocated In Slumber" was a turning point in band's career. In March 2001 album was released in Europe (German System Shock rec.). In the same month Trauma goes on "Reign Forever World Tour" with Decapitated and Vader visiting biggest towns in Poland. During these hot gigs a live album "Crash Test - Live" is recorded. October 2001 brought it's premiere (Pagan Records). In January 2002 Trauma strikes again in "Expression Of Horror Tour" with Devilyn and Misteria. In April the band went on their first concerts abroad at the "System Shock Over Europe Tour II" with Master, Krabathor and Xenomorph. Tour contained almost whole Germany and Netherlands causing positive reactions among fans. After this Trauma started working on new album. In October the band was invited to the next edition of "Trash'em All Festival". They shared stage with Monstrosity, Vomitory, Sceptic, Lost Soul, Dissenter and Contempt. After these gigs musicians were completely devoted to work on the follower of "Suffocated In Slumber".

At the beginning of 2003 the band's cooperation with Pagan Records ended. In February they signed a new contract with Empire Records and in March Trauma entered Studio Hertz in Bałystok again in order to record the newest album "Imperfect Like A God". New label created comfortable conditions giving the musicians 250 hours so that they could work in the studio. As an effect they produced powerful and also selective sound. Since they had recorded "Suffocated In Slumber" Trauma concerted at high intense. Undoubtedly they have become better and more conscious band. Nine new tracks from "Imperfect Like A God" are the best proof. They haven't played so intensively and brutally yet. A lot of new solutions appeared in band's music. It's still aggressive and brutal Death Metal but surprises with variety of new ideas, large arrangements of songs and blameless technique. Surely Trauma is one of the metal bands which posses their own, recognizable sound and characteristic playing style. 'Imperfect Like A God" was released 25th of November 2004.
